Bakery machine manufacturer FRITSCH is investing 75 million euros in a new corporate headquarters in Iphofen, Lower Franconia. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 18th, attended by the management of FRITSCH and its parent company , MULTIVAC Group , as well as Tamara Bischof, District Administrator of the Kitzingen district, and Dieter Lenzer, Mayor of Iphofen. Completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.

For FRITSCH, the new building marks a double milestone: The company is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and is simultaneously building its first-ever headquarters, consolidating the manufacturer's five previous locations. "The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of our new headquarters and has special significance in our anniversary year," said Dr. Nico Haßmann, Managing Director of FRITSCH, at the event. The site is intended to combine tradition and future orientation and create the foundation for further growth and optimized processes.

76,000 square meters for three buildings

A three-part building complex is being constructed on the approximately 76,000-square-meter site in the new industrial park in the town of Iphofen. The first phase will see the construction of a roughly 5,000-square-meter, three-story administration building, featuring modern office space, a cafeteria, and dedicated training and education facilities. Simultaneously, a roughly 20,000-square-meter production building equipped with state-of-the-art technology is under construction. In a later phase, the existing "World of Bakery" technology center will be integrated into the new complex. Architecturally, the building is characterized by a stepped aluminum facade with expansive glass elements.

From 400 to up to 600 jobs

FRITSCH currently employs around 400 people. The new site is designed to accommodate up to 600 jobs in the future. Christian Traumann, CEO of the MULTIVAC Group, put the investment into strategic context: FRITSCH is "an important part of our portfolio," and the positive development in the bakery segment and the potential of FRITSCH's product range in its international subsidiaries confirmed the decision to build the new facility. FRITSCH has been part of the MULTIVAC Group since 2019. The MULTIVAC Group has more than 80 subsidiaries and around 7,800 employees worldwide – including sales and service structures through which Austrian bakeries and confectioneries purchase and have FRITSCH equipment serviced.

Photovoltaics, heat pumps and grass pavers

The new building is also intended to set ecological standards. Plans include large-scale photovoltaic systems, an energy-efficient heat supply via heat pumps, and thermally activated building components for temperature control in the production areas. To minimize soil sealing, the parking areas will be paved with grass pavers; generous green spaces will facilitate rainwater infiltration. For a machine manufacturer whose systems operate in large bakeries and retail stores, this also sends a signal to energy-conscious customers in German-speaking countries.

One hundred years of dough shaping, part of MULTIVAC since 2019
